02 · TWO NAMES, ONE JOB

Voice to text is speech to text.

“Voice to text” describes the experience: you speak and written words appear. “Speech to text” describes the technology doing the transcription. In practice, both phrases lead to the same outcome—a usable text version of what you said.

The useful question is what happens next. A transcript should be editable, portable, and easy to move into the work you were already doing.

03 · BEYOND ONE TRANSCRIPT

Use voice where the work already lives.

The free tool is the quickest way to turn one recording into text. The AudioArcher Mac app removes the extra tab: hold Fn, speak into any field, and release to paste clean text at your cursor.

When the thought deserves more, transform it into a polished email, brief, task list, script, or your own reusable workflow—without overwriting the original.

Voice-to-text FAQ

What is the difference between voice to text and speech to text?

They describe the same core process: converting spoken audio into written text. Voice to text is common product language, while speech-to-text is the technical term used for the underlying transcription technology.

Do I need an account?

No. You can record and transcribe directly on this page without creating an account. An AudioArcher account is useful when you want dictation across Mac apps, searchable Memory, and reusable transforms.

Is my recording stored?

No. The recording is used to create the transcript and is discarded after transcription. The transcript remains in your browser unless you copy, download, or deliberately save it elsewhere.

Can I edit the transcript?

Yes. The result is placed in an editable text box so you can make corrections before copying or downloading it.
